Girl Rising -
a film produced by 10X10
This award winning documentary film focuses on the lives of 9 girls living around the world and how their lack of access to education impacts their lives. Some of them choose to fight for an education while others fall victim to the rules of culture and society. This film is to promote the need for education and WHY educating girls is so important.
Please consider sending your Wednesday night with us…becoming global citizens while being reminded how lucky we are that we have access to FREE public education regardless of gender.

The movie will be showing at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center
May 8th with a start time of 7pm.
The movie will run 120 minutes. Doors will open for this showing at 6pm.
Cost is $5 per person regardless of age.
This film is open to ANY students, staff, former staff, any parents or Alumni of the Maquoketa School District
This film is appropriate for anyone 5th grade and higher, but it is up to you if you want to bring in kids under this grade level.
** All funds raised during this film will go back to paying for the cost of the film to come to Maquoketa and then to the travel expenses for the club hOpe members traveling to Kenya, Africa this summer and to We Day this fall.
