Reminder to all girls going out for track & field, practice begins Monday.  Be sure to bring warm clothing …. if the weather is decent, we will be running outside.

Peyton River is a finalist for athlete of the week.  Go to kcrg.com/sports/athleteoftheweek to vote.  Voting ends today at 10:20AM.

Any Freshman who did not get a Root Beer Float this week will be able to purchase one on Friday.  There will be no Root Beer Floats today because of Olweus  during DST today.

Student Senate is now selling cans of Crush pop for your crushes today this week during lunch shifts. Crushes are being sold for $1. They will be sent out on Feb. 14 during your DST.

There will be an art club meeting today at 5:45. Short meeting- then games and refreshments. Hope to see you there.

Boys track meeting will now be Friday in Mr. Mayo’s room during DST. Bring gear to return.

Dance team tryouts are March 3 from 9am-12:30.  Please pick up an information sheet from Ms. Struck in room 111.

Come hear about this issue of sex trafficking of minors in the United States on Feb 13th in the library during DST – the documentary 3AM Girls will be playing to give a voice to kids who have none. V-Day is a day of love – at Maquoketa High School its a day to give a voice to those without one. Check out the library for the featured books and videos that tell the stories of children and women who have faced violence and had their voice taken away.

Hearts on Fire Event this Saturday night at Pearson Hall – doors open at 5:30pm. Hometown Cafe Dinner, Jammers, games and auctions (both silent and live)! All proceeds go to buying Maquoketa Rescue Squad a Grain Bin Rescue Tube and helping Jade Harris with her upcoming surgeries due to injuries suffered from a house fire.

Today’s Lunch:    little smokies, mashed potatoes, corn, pudding and the alternate is tuna salad sandwich.

Student Senate raised $58 for Middle School student Jade Harris last night by sponsoring a half court shot contest at the Boys Basketball Game. Thank you to those who participated.

Any boys or girls who are going out for tennis this spring NEED to sign up to work at the concessions stand on Friday night. There are not enough people to work now so you should sign up or find someone to replace you. The sign-up will be posted outside of Mrs. Raker’s room on Wednesday.

Seniors, do you have what it takes to be the ULTIMATE senior survivor? Pick up a questionnaire in the office and fill it out with the most creative answers to be a possible participant in this year’s Senior Survivor. When finished please return surveys to room 109 by Tuesday, February 14th.
