Hello! I’m Joan Bollman, and I am looking forward to a great year of learning for all of the students at Cardinal Elementary School. As principal, my goal is to provide positive leadership to help students, staff, and parents have a positive learning experience. I believe that we are all – teachers, staff, students, parents, and community – an important piece of the puzzle. We all need to do our part for the puzzle to be complete.
Cardinal has a positive, caring staff that works hard to ensure the opportunity for success for children. We work collaboratively in a welcoming environment to improve student learning, develop positive character traits, to assure children that they are accepted, and to make sure that they are safe and comfortable. Decisions are made that reflect what is best for the students.
Before becoming principal at Cardinal, I taught at Briggs Elementary in Maquoketa for 22 years as a kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher. Previously, I taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th grades in Galesburg, IL. I earned my BS in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University. I have three grown children, Emily, Amanda, and Matthew.
As the new school year gets underway, I welcome you to visit our school. Consider stopping by to eat a school lunch with your child! Volunteer to work with the parent group (PACK)! We’d love to have you involved! If you ever have questions or comments, please feel free to call me at 563-652-5157, or to email me at email@example.com.
